Our Endowment, Your Legacy
Hunger in Edmonton is a solvable issue. At Edmonton’s Food Bank, we are not only stewards in the collection of food, we also seek solutions to the causes of hunger. As Canada’s first food bank, we have been working towards these goals since 1981. This work continues thanks to our donors and the generous support of the Edmonton community.
Endowments are permanently invested monetary gifts. Because the principal is never touched, these gifts will continue to grow and provide income to fund Edmonton’s Food Bank well into the future. When you donate to our endowment fund you enter into a partnership that will last for generations.
You may choose to donate any amount directly to Edmonton’s Food Bank’s endowment fund, or you may leave your legacy through a named endowment. Your named endowment begins with an investment of $10,000. This investment can be made in one lump sum, or over a period of ten years. Once this $10,000 total has been reached the fund will begin assisting those facing food insecurity.
Legacy Endowment Benefits
Donors often find that their gift helps to encourage a family tradition of philanthropy. Endowment gifts provide an opportunity to engage family and friends in our community. Contributions to the fund can be made on behalf of that hard-to-buy-for person, or to celebrate special occasions. An endowment gift will establish a legacy of giving.
