Having trouble with donating online through our website? It may be due to a recent security update by our donation partner CanadaHelps!

To facilitate online donations we partner with another non-profit called CanadaHelps, who assist many Canadian charities with collecting online donations. We have heard from a few donors that they have been having trouble donating and getting notices that they can't access CanadaHelps. This issue came up after a recent security upgrade. As part of CanadaHelps PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) re-certification, they introduced a payment pop-up window in the checkout flow. This change prompts donors to enter their credit card information in a secure pop-up once they reach the payment step, after which they can complete their donation as usual.

Some donors may experience issues completing a donation if pop-up blockers or some other privacy settings are enabled. These settings can block the secure payment window required to process a donation. It is important to note this does not indicate a problem with the donation form itself or with donor data security.

If you've had this issue, check that you don't have pop-ups blocked on your internet browser. If you do you will need to allow pop-ups to donate. You can always turn them off again once you have donated. If you're still experiencing issues, try donating on the linked version of the form here: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/37994.
