Harvesting Potatoes at Fort Edmonton!
On October 8th, we gathered for another potato harvest at Fort Edmonton! With our partners from The Little Potato Company, Sustainable Food Edmonton, the City of Edmonton, and Alberta Motor Association, we harvested over 2100 kg (nearly 4700 lbs) of potatoes on a beautiful autumn day. These potatoes will be used in our upcoming community kitchens and distributed through food hampers to those in need. It is a wonderful way to provide locally-grown potatoes to Edmontonians over the Thanksgiving season.

Potatoes are highly valued at Edmonton's Food Bank for their nutritional content, long shelf life, and versatility in meal preparation. As a delicious staple in our community kitchen, the harvested potatoes will make a difference to so many people in our community.
We are immensely grateful for the dedication and support of everyone involved, especially our volunteers, Junetta at Sustainable Food Edmonton, Lee Ann and Harris at Little Potato Company, and Emily and Andrea from Fort Edmonton.
