As One Who Serves
The Scona Initiative is founded upon the values of helping and serving the community. As a part of the school culture, they are able to continuously make lasting impacts on communities around the world. Since 2008, Scona Initiatives have raised a total of $3.5 million and provided support for those in need.
Edmonton's Food Bank is incredibly honoured to be the charity of choice in 2026!
This year, the Scona Initiative helping us take on a major challenge: building a long-term walk-in cooler dedicated to root vegetables after the harvest: potatoes, carrots, onions, oh my. These staples help stretch meals. They’re healthy and they’re needed for the people we serve from hamper programs to meal programs.
A cooler like this means we can store thousands of kilograms of locally grown produce safely for longer periods, reducing waste, and getting more fresh food to more households.
